IKPS is a registered non-profit charity, volunteer organisation
with no paid staff.

What we do

  • IKPS provides a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week ambulance service for sick, injured and orphaned wildlife
  • IKPS propagates and plants koala food trees
  • IKPS hand raises and rehabilitates orphaned koalas (and other native wildlife), for release to the wild
  • IKPS maintains accurate records, statistics and mapping of koalas and their habitat
  • IKPS provides education and information to the community, and local, state and federal Governments on koalas, their needs and their future

We can’t do ‘what we do’ alone. If you would like to support our efforts, the best thing you can do is donate or become a member.

Koala's of ipswich

It is believed that Ipswich has the most significant koala population in the country! A University of Queensland researcher (Bill Ellis) had documented that the region has surpassed the Koala Coast of Redland City and Moreton Bay council areas as the world's most significant koala habitat. 

That is pretty special and we are here to do our bit to raise awareness of how important conservation is for the koala community. Read the report.
